Separate personal work from team production
A workspace is the production context for shared work. Select it before uploading footage or starting an edit. Personal projects and credits have their own context, so confirm the workspace shown when moving between a personal video and a team deliverable.
What a workspace gives your team
| Part | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Footage and projects | Shared production material and edits in the selected workspace. |
| Credit balance | Available shared credits fund workspace processing. |
| Membership | The owner creates invitation links and can remove members or revoke pending invitations. |
| Billing | The owner manages the subscription and billing portal. |
| Usage | The owner can inspect monthly usage and recent credit transactions. |
| Plan-dependent controls | Check the workspace settings and current plan for spend limits and sign-in requirements. |
Set up the first shared edit
- Open Workspaces from the account controls and select an active business workspace.
- Have the owner create an invitation for the teammate’s email and share the resulting link with that person.
- Check the intended workspace and available credits before attaching team footage.
- Create a brief, submit the edit and give one person responsibility for consolidating feedback.
- Review the new version and record which MP4 is approved in your delivery process.
Keep feedback actionable
Assign a decision owner for each deliverable. Collect conflicting notes before submitting a revision: a request to shorten the introduction should identify the target duration and what must remain. If one reviewer wants a different story and another wants a caption correction, resolve the story first.
Know the collaboration boundary
Shared projects are not a promise of simultaneous timeline co-editing, anonymous review links, timestamped guest comments or formal approval gates. Use your existing review process for those needs and send the resolved changes to Shorty. Ask for a demonstrated workflow when a collaboration requirement is essential.
Account for pending work
Check the available balance before submitting a batch. An initial estimate and a final settled charge are different numbers. Allow room for revisions, then compare the usage record with the deliverables your team actually approved.
