Share video review links with timestamped comments

Open a completed Shorty edit, choose Share for review and create a link for that version. Reviewers can watch and leave comments at a video time without a Shorty account. Links expire after 30 days and can be revoked.

Create a review link

  1. Open the completed video from Edits in the intended account or workspace.
  2. Choose Share for review, then Create review link.
  3. Copy the link and send it to the people reviewing that cut. Anyone who receives the link can open it.
  4. Open the review to read feedback. Use Refresh comments to retrieve new notes.

Leave a useful note

  1. Play or pause the video at the moment you want changed.
  2. Choose Use current video time, or enter the time in seconds.
  3. Enter your name and describe the requested change, including what should remain.
  4. Post the comment. Click a comment’s time to return to that moment.

Keep feedback attached to a version

A link refers to one completed render. A subsequent revision does not replace the video behind an older link. Create a link for the new version so reviewers know which cut they are discussing. Consolidate comments into an editing request; posting a comment does not automatically render a revision.

Control who receives the link

A review link is accessible to anyone who has it. Reviewers’ names and comments are visible to everyone with the link. The review shows the rendered video; it does not expose the source footage, editing prompt or other projects. Avoid sharing a cut publicly if its content is confidential.

Revoke an old link

Return to Share for review on the original cut and choose Revoke link. New access and new comments stop. A video already loaded can remain playable until its temporary media address expires; revocation cannot recall a file someone already saved. Links expire automatically after 30 days.

Turn notes into a clear revision

Resolve contradictory requests before editing. For example: “At 7.2 seconds, hold the final product shot one second longer. Keep the title, shot order and soundtrack.” Review the new output, then distribute its new link. Comments are feedback, not a formal approval record.

Questions, answered.

Does a reviewer need an account?

No. Anyone with a valid review link can watch the shared version and post a name and comment.

Does the link update when I revise the edit?

No. Each link stays attached to its original render. Create a new review link for the revised output.

Can I stop access?

Revoke the link from the original cut’s Share for review controls. New access and comments stop; existing downloads and temporary media addresses cannot be recalled.
