Cookie Notice

Effective: 16 September 2026

We use essential cookies to keep Shorty working. With your permission, we also use cookies and similar technologies to understand how Shorty is used and measure our advertising. This notice explains what they do and the choices you have.

Shorty is operated by Tools Products FZ-LLC. For more about how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.

Managing your preferences

You decide whether to allow analytics and advertising cookies. Choose Accept All Cookies, Reject Non-Essential Cookies, or set each category in Cookie Preferences. Essential cookies remain active so you can sign in and use the service.

You can change your mind at any time using Cookie Preferences in the footer. Rejecting optional cookies does not stop you from using Shorty.

We respect Global Privacy Control and enabled Do Not Track signals by keeping optional analytics and advertising off. Your choice is saved in this browser; you may need to set it again on another device or after clearing browser storage.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Some last for a session; others stay until they expire or you delete them. Local storage keeps information on your device between visits, while session storage usually lasts until you close the tab.

Pixels are small pieces of code that send information about a visit or action to a service provider. In this notice, “cookies” includes these similar technologies.

Essential

These technologies support sign-in, account security, saved preferences and core editing features. They are always active. Authentication and payment providers may also use necessary cookies when you use their services.

  • Account and session storage: keeps you signed in and lets Shorty access your projects.
  • Editing preferences and drafts: remembers the choices and work you save in this browser.
  • Cookie preferences: shorty:cookie-preferences:v1 stores your analytics and advertising choices. Existing advertising preferences may also be stored under shorty:advertising-consent:v2. These stay until you change them or clear browser storage.

Analytics

With your permission, PostHog helps us understand which pages and features people use, find errors and improve Shorty. This includes product events, performance measurements and session replay with input masking and media surfaces excluded.

PostHog may store browser and session identifiers under names beginning with ph_phc_. Some browser storage remains until you clear it. The SDK loads only after analytics is enabled. Turning analytics off stops future capture and removes analytics storage we can access.

When analytics is enabled, submitting an edit also sends the prompt, selected reference or style, editing settings and footage counts to PostHog. Media files and private media URLs are not included in that event. See our Privacy Policy for details and PostHog’s Privacy Policy.

Advertising

With your permission, we share device and activity data with Meta, OpenAI and Reddit to measure ad results. This can include the page you visit, referrer, browser details, IP address, ad click identifiers and completed actions.

  • Meta: measures visits, confirmed new accounts and verified paid subscriptions. Its cookies can include _fbp and _fbc. Meta’s Privacy Policy.
  • OpenAI: measures visits and verified paid subscriptions associated with ads in ChatGPT. It may use __oppref and __obref identifiers. Automatic advanced matching may detect contact details on the page, normalize and hash them in your browser, and use those identifiers for ad matching. Our measurement events opt out of future user-level personalization. OpenAI’s Privacy Policy.
  • Reddit: measures visits and ad-related actions. It may use _rdt_uuid and _rdt_cid. Shorty also stores rdt_cid when present in an ad link; that first-party cookie lasts 30 days, and its local-storage copy remains until removed. Reddit’s Privacy Policy.

We do not put editing prompts, uploaded media, private filenames, payment card details or Stripe session IDs in the advertising events we send. Advertising providers control their own identifiers and retention periods.

Changing your choice

Saving a new choice applies it to future activity. When you turn an optional category off, we stop its future measurement events and remove its cookies and browser storage where we can. This does not delete information a provider has already received.

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential storage may affect sign-in and other parts of Shorty. For privacy questions or requests, contact us through Help.

Updates to this notice

We may update this notice as our services or providers change. The effective date above shows when it was last updated.
