How do I download or recover my finished video?

Open the completed result in Edits and use its download action to save the MP4. If playback or downloading fails, reopen the existing result and try again before starting another render. Review the saved file before publishing.

Download the completed result

  1. Open Edits in the account that created the video.
  2. Choose the completed edit and use its download action.
  3. Check the browser’s downloads list to confirm the MP4 was saved.
  4. Play the saved file with sound and review the complete sequence.

What if downloading fails?

A failed download does not necessarily mean the render failed. Reopen the existing result and request the download again. If it continues to fail, provide support with the run context and the message shown.

What does the file contain?

The MP4 contains the rendered picture and mixed audio. Visible titles and captions are flattened into that picture. Importing it into another editor does not restore separate Shorty layers. Keep original clips for changes that need the source.

Does Shorty publish the video for me?

Upload the reviewed MP4 through your destination platform. This editing workflow does not automatically post to social accounts.

Questions, answered.

Should I render again if a download stops working?

Reopen the completed result and request a fresh download first. Check the saved run before creating more work.

Does export include a native CapCut or Premiere project?

The documented handoff is a rendered MP4, not a native project with separate Shorty layers.
