Edit Like Kallaway

A bold claim in the first second, a visual for every noun and momentum that never pauses — hook-first tech storytelling built for shorts. Shorty rebuilds the formula from your footage.

What Shorty is

Shorty is an AI-powered video editing application for creators, marketers and social teams who publish short-form video. You bring the raw footage; Shorty does the editing work that normally takes hours in a timeline editor — choosing the strongest moments, cutting them to the beat, writing and styling captions, matching a colour grade, and exporting the finished video in the shape your reference is actually cut in — vertical 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, or 4:5, 1:1, 3:4, 4:3, 16:9 and cinematic 21:9 when the edit calls for them.

The application is named Shorty and is published at shortyedit.com. It is operated by The Interactive Company of Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Questions: marketing@shorty.ai.

How Shorty works

  1. Choose a reference. Pick one of the example edits above, or upload a short clip whose style you want to copy. Shorty analyses its pacing, captions, transitions and colour grade and turns them into an editing spec.
  2. Add your footage. Upload your own videos. Shorty scans them for usable moments, faces, speech and motion; the soundtrack comes from the reference.
  3. Get the cut. Shorty builds the edit plan, renders it, and gives you a finished vertical video to download and post.

Accounts and sign-in

You need a Shorty account to save projects and render videos. You can create one with an email magic link, or by choosing Continue with Google. The Google consent screen shown during sign-in identifies the same application, Shorty, at this domain. When you sign in with Google, Shorty receives only your basic Google profile information — your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID — and uses it solely to create and authenticate your Shorty account. Shorty does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, Contacts or any other Google service data, and never sells or shares your Google account data with third parties for advertising.

Your uploaded footage stays in your own account's private storage and is used only to produce the edits you ask for. You can delete your projects and request account deletion at any time by emailing marketing@shorty.ai.

The Kallaway editing style, decomposed

Kallaway's style is the short-form evolution of the tech explainer: a thesis in the first breath, then a sprint of inserts, captions and reframes that never lets the viewer settle. The workload is in the inserts — sourcing and timing a visual for every beat of the script. A reference-driven edit measures that density and rebuilds it from your own footage and screen material.

How to edit like Kallaway with Shorty

  1. Start from the brief above. The composer is already filled in with a Kallaway-style editing brief — tweak it, or upload a short reference video in the style you admire and Shorty analyses its pacing, captions, transitions and colour grade.
  2. Add your footage. Upload your own videos and images, plus an optional music track. Shorty scans them for usable moments, faces and speech; your files stay private to your account.
  3. Get the finished video. Shorty plans, edits and renders the cut in the reference's own format — vertical 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts through cinematic 21:9 — ready to download and post.
