Import a selected set of videos
- Open Shorty and sign in when prompted. In the footage picker, choose Google Drive.
- Paste the Google Drive folder link and choose Check folder.
- Review the available videos and any skipped files. Select only what the edit needs.
- Review the displayed estimate, then choose Add selected videos.
- Add your direction and optional reference. Check the selected footage and credits before clicking Edit.
What access does the folder need?
The folder must be accessible through the link. The picker explains how to use “Anyone with the link” with the Viewer role and downloads allowed when access is missing. Anyone who has that link can view the shared footage. For material you cannot share this way, use the local upload option instead. Signing in with Google does not itself grant Shorty access to your whole Drive.
What stays in Google Drive?
The originals stay in Drive and Shorty uses temporary processing copies. Keep the files available and unchanged for future edits. This workflow selects videos from a folder; it is not a background synchronisation of your entire Drive.
Why might a file be skipped?
Read the reason shown in the picker before continuing. Check that the item is an accessible supported video and that downloads are allowed. Try local upload for a compatible file if the shared-folder workflow cannot access it. Do not repeatedly submit an edit to fix a source-access problem.
Give the imported clips one clear job
Make a 25-second vertical event recap from these clips. Open with the clearest wide shot, show the main activity, then finish on a genuine reaction. Keep any important spoken sentence intact. Use minimal titles and keep music below speech. Use only these source clips.
