Demonstrate one observable task
Choose an onboarding step, configuration change or release improvement with a clear success state. Record a clean test account using your existing capture tool. Hide credentials, notifications and unrelated tabs before recording; do not rely on an editing request to catch every private detail.
Plan the source before editing
| Part | Capture | Check in the edit |
|---|---|---|
| Starting state | The correct screen and prerequisites | The viewer knows where to begin. |
| Actions | Every click or command necessary to complete the task | The edit does not skip a dependency or change the order. |
| Result | The visible output or confirmation | The video demonstrates that the task finished. |
| Version | Product release or recording date in your notes | The workflow still matches the current interface. |
Try a technical walkthrough brief
Edit this screen recording into a 40-second 16:9 walkthrough. Keep the setup, required actions and success state in order. Remove loading pauses. Retain the exact interface labels and show the final result for 4 seconds. Use a crop only if every required control stays visible and readable. Preserve the recorded explanation; do not invent code, commands or product behavior.
Review before distributing
Ask the person responsible for the feature to use a review link and leave timed comments on incorrect labels or missing steps. After a revision, check the full action sequence again. Download the approved MP4 for your documentation or support system, and retain the source and product version for the next update.
Use the right capture and distribution tools
Shorty edits supplied recordings. Use a screen recorder for capture, your repository for source-code review and your documentation platform for access controls and publication. The MCP connection can operate supported Shorty editing tasks through a compatible assistant; it is not a general connection to every internal system.
