When keeping CapCut makes sense
If your existing template, effect and manual editing workflow already produces the result you need, switching may add work. Identify the actual bottleneck: choosing shots, transcript cleanup, finding highlights or precise finishing. Test a replacement against that task.
Try one representative project
Use media you can reuse in both tools and write the desired length, framing, message and finish. Record how much time you spend preparing files, directing the edit, reviewing the output and making one revision. Include the manual finishing needed to reach an acceptable result.
Can Shorty and CapCut work together?
Yes, as an MP4 handoff. Download the finished video from Shorty and import it as media into your editor. That MP4 contains a flattened result; it does not transfer the original Shorty composition as native editable layers. Keep original footage if later changes will need it.
