Use one client brief in both workflows
Choose a routine job with usable footage, exact required text, and a clear output. Include a realistic client change after the first version: a different opening, corrected wording, or a longer product view.
Record preparation, assembly, review, and correction effort. Check whether the revision preserves approved details elsewhere. If a job requires exact manual layer work, include that in the test instead of hoping the need will disappear after switching.
Follow the file to delivery
Can another team member find the approved version? Is the intended format correct? Can the client identify what changed? Keep these checks in your normal project process rather than assuming either editor supplies every agency control you need.
A mixed workflow may be sensible: use directed assembly for suitable first cuts and a hands-on editor for selected finishing. Make sure that handoff actually saves effort. Choose the arrangement that produces reliable approved work for your clients, with limitations the team understands.
