Watch Your Edit Come Together, a New Review Screen and More

Waiting for an edit used to mean watching a progress bar. Now you can watch the edit take shape: your clips being scanned, the shot plan arriving and the finished cut laid out shot by shot.

Your Footage, Scanned

As soon as you start an edit, Shorty shows the clips you picked in a carousel and scans them one by one. Your reference gets scanned too, and when there’s no reference, Shorty reads your brief.

The Editing View

Once your footage is read, the run moves into the same workspace your finished cut will open in. Each step lights up as it runs, and the shot plan appears the moment it’s ready, so you can see what Shorty is about to build. If the plan needs more footage, Shorty asks for it right there.

Review the Finished Cut

The finished cut now opens as a review screen. Under the video, the timeline is drawn from the plan the cut was actually rendered from: one bar per shot, each filled with frames from that shot.

The shot plan lists every shot with its start and its length. Click one to jump straight to it in the video.

A Folder for Every Edit

Each edit now has its own folder in Footages, holding the reference that set the style and the clips it was cut from. Folders are named after what the edit is about, and they also appear in the footage picker, so the clips from last week’s trip edit are one tap away.

Good to know

Where do I find the footage an edit used?

Open Footages and choose the edit’s folder. It holds the reference and every clip that went into the edit.

Stay for the scan. The cut is worth watching come together.
