Shorty MCP lets you edit with Shorty from the AI assistant you already use. Today it gets much more to work with. Your assistant can create original sound effects, use the same design catalogs and scene tools as Shorty’s own director, and pick up a render after a dropped connection.
Sound Effects, Made to Order
Describe a sound, like “a crisp cinematic whoosh ending in a soft bass impact,” and Shorty creates an original effect from half a second to 22 seconds long. Ask for a loop when it needs to run under a scene.
Your assistant can then place the sound at an exact moment in your edit, trim it, set its volume and speed, and fade it in or out. Your clips keep their own audio in the mix, so you don’t lose the sound you filmed.
The Director’s Toolkit, in Your Assistant
Edits your assistant writes can now use the same catalogs as Shorty’s director: text animations, text treatments, editorial layouts, motion loops and stickers. It can search them too, so it picks a real style instead of guessing one.
Scene tools come along as well. Your assistant can cut a subject out of a frame or a whole shot, track a moving object, place text behind something in the scene, and measure where things are and how they move.
Renders That Survive a Disconnect
Long renders no longer depend on your connection. If a call times out or your assistant disconnects, the render keeps going. Ask for its status later to get the finished video. Repeating the same render request picks up the same job instead of starting a new one.
Good to know
Are generated sounds added to my edit automatically?
No. Each sound comes back as playable audio. Your assistant places it in the edit when you ask.
Does Shorty MCP cost extra?
No separate fee. Sound effects and scene tools use credits from your Shorty balance, like the rest of Shorty.
Which assistants can I use?
Shorty MCP works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Codex. The connection steps are on the MCP page.
Ask your assistant for the whoosh. Then ask it where it lands.
