Your AI Assistant Directs the Edit, a Live Edit Monitor and More

Shorty works inside the AI assistants you already use. Starting today, your assistant can do more than pass along a request: it can watch your footage, write the edit, check a preview and hand it to Shorty to render. You can follow the whole run without leaving the chat.

Your Assistant Is the Director

Connect Shorty over MCP and your assistant works from the same rulebook and the same view of your footage as Shorty’s own director. It looks at frames from every clip, writes the edit and gets a preview back to check its work. When it’s happy, Shorty renders the final video at full quality.

Prefer to hand it off? Your assistant can still ask Shorty’s director to make the cut, from a reference video or from a brief alone.

A Live Edit Monitor

In assistants that can show apps, a live monitor now opens in the conversation. It follows each step of the run, draws the timeline of the planned edit and plays the finished video right there.

Send Files From Your Computer

Using a hosted assistant with footage on your Mac or PC? Shorty replies with a one-line upload command for each file. An assistant with a terminal runs it for you; otherwise, paste it into Terminal yourself. No extra sign-in needed.

Edits you make through MCP show up on your Edits page at shortyedit.com, next to everything else.
