Post Links in Your AI Assistant, Steadier iPhone Editing and More

References travel as links, not files. Now your AI assistant can hand Shorty a post link, and Shorty fetches the video behind it. Shorty also got steadier on iPhone, and tabs you leave open keep themselves up to date.

Paste a Post Link

When you edit with Shorty from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another assistant, a TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook or X post link now works wherever a video file did: as your reference or as footage. Shorty finds the video behind the link and adds it to your project.

If a platform won’t hand the video over, the edit doesn’t stop there. Your assistant gives you a one-line command to upload your own copy instead.

Steadier on iPhone

Picking footage on an iPhone could make Safari reload the page. Shorty now frees video memory as you scroll and while you’re away, so the tab stays put. Previews also work in Low Power Mode: tap anywhere and stalled tiles start again.

On a phone, the footage picker opens as a full-height sheet, and your library loads the clips on screen first, so it’s ready to scroll sooner.

Tabs That Stay Current

A Shorty tab can stay open for days. It now checks for a newer version every few minutes and updates itself while it’s in the background or the moment you come back, never in the middle of an upload.

Good to know

Which links work?

Post links from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and X, plus direct links to video files.

Do I need credits to use a link?

Yes. Shorty fetches the video behind a post link when your account has credits for the edit.

Share the link you already have, and get back to editing.
