An edit is more than clips. Today Shorty learns to use your photos, listen to what’s said in your footage, time captions to the word and add sound where the picture needs it.
Photos Ride Along as Footage
Every footage picker now takes images as well as videos. Add product shots, screenshots or stills, and Shorty works them into the edit alongside your clips.
Shorty uses each photo exactly as you gave it. A PNG with a transparent background floats over your footage. A regular photo stays whole, set in a frame or given a shot of its own. Shorty never cuts out a background by itself.
Shorty Listens to Your Footage
Shorty now hears the speech in your clips. A talking video keeps the speaker’s own voice, and captions follow what was actually said, in the language it was said in.
Captions on the Word
Captions are now timed from each spoken word, so every word appears on screen as it’s said.
Built-In Sound Effects
Shorty now has a built-in set of sound effects: whooshes and whips for transitions, camera shutters, clicks, switches and page turns. The director places them to match what happens on screen.
Good to know
Can I add photos to an edit?
Yes. Add images in any footage picker, next to your videos. Use a PNG with a transparent background if you want a product to float over your footage.
Will captions match the language I speak?
Yes. Captions follow the words spoken in your footage, in the language they were spoken.
Bring the clips, the photos and the voice. Shorty puts them together.
