PricingSometimes you know the feeling before you know the edit. The new Effects library collects more than 160 picture effects and presets, from glowing CRT scans to film grain and paper prints. Each one plays on real footage, and each one can be the reference for your next edit.
Browse by Look
The library is grouped into categories such as Blur, Color, Distort, Film, Print & Paper and Drawing & Painting, plus a collection of ready-made presets. Every effect has its own page with a playable example, a short description, advice on which footage works best and three prompts to start from.
You can browse the same categories in Discovery, too.
Pick a Look, Keep Your Edit
Choose Recreate this on any effect example and it becomes your reference. Shorty applies only that visual effect to your footage and keeps your shots, length and audio. It won’t add text you didn’t provide.
CRT and Blob Tracker
Some looks go further than a filter. CRT turns the picture itself into a glowing cyan scan pattern whose lines bend with the image, finished with a soft blue bloom. It looks best on a subject against a dark background.
Blob Tracker finds bright, dark or colored regions in your footage and follows them with boxes, numbered labels, short trails and connecting paths. It tracks regions of pixels rather than recognizing people or named objects, so clear highlights and distinct colors work best.

Receipt Ticket
Your footage on an animated paper receipt, with a dithered photo, a torn edge and only the text you supply.
1-bit Dither and Pink Phosphor
Rebuild the picture in crisp black-and-white dots, or in deep blacks and luminous magenta with a fine screen texture.
Good to know
Are the examples made with Shorty?
Yes. Each example is a short demonstration rendered with Shorty on footage from our own showcase. Results on your footage depend on its lighting, framing and export size.
Will an effect change my edit’s timing?
No. When you start from an effect example, Shorty keeps your shots, length and audio and changes only the look.
