Trending sounds live in the apps you post to, so Shorty now helps you pick one. A finished cut without music comes with a sound suggestion you can hear against your edit, and Discovery makes it easier to find a style for videos built around someone talking.
A Sound Suggestion for Your Cut
When your cut has no music, the director now recommends a sound for it: a genre, a tempo and a few tracks that fit. Add the sound in TikTok or Instagram when you post, and your video joins that sound’s feed.
Play a short preview of any suggested track and your cut restarts alongside it, muted, so you hear the music against the edit. Copy the search to paste into Instagram or TikTok, or open it on TikTok or YouTube.
Talking Head and Viral Styles
Discovery now has a Talking Head collection for videos built around someone speaking to camera, plus a collection of viral edits to borrow from. Pick one as your reference and add your own footage.

Good to know
Is the suggested sound added to my video?
No. It’s a suggestion for when you post. Adding the sound in the app you post to also puts your video in that sound’s feed.
Pick the sound, post the cut.
