# Connect your footage, assistant and video delivery

Import selected videos from an accessible shared Google Drive folder, reuse your Shorty footage library, or operate supported editing tasks through MCP. Download the approved MP4 and available subtitle files for your publishing tools.

## Available connections and handoffs

| Connection | Supported workflow | Boundary |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Shared Google Drive folder | Choose accessible videos from a shared folder for an edit. | Keep originals available during processing; importing is not automatic folder monitoring. |
| Shorty footage library | Reuse saved uploads in the selected account or workspace. | Confirm the account or workspace before selecting assets. |
| MCP | Use a compatible assistant to submit supported editing tasks, inspect status and retrieve output. | Follow the connection guide; the assistant and Shorty still require their own access. |
| Review links | Share a completed version and collect timestamped comments. | Anyone with the link can watch and comment until it expires or is revoked. |
| MP4 and subtitles | Download the finished video and SRT or VTT when timing metadata exists. | Upload them through your chosen hosting, social or learning platform. |

## Bring in a shared Drive folder

- Open the footage selector and choose the Drive import option.
- Supply an accessible shared folder and select the videos required for the edit.
- Keep the originals shared while analysis and rendering are in progress.
- Review the output against the source before delivery.

## Connect a compatible assistant

Open the MCP guide for the connection address and setup instructions. Give the assistant a precise brief, the intended source material and the output requirements. Check the estimate before starting paid work, then retrieve and review the completed result. Availability depends on the tools and permissions exposed to that assistant.

## Publish through your existing destination

Download the approved MP4 and import it into the platform responsible for publication. When available, download the matching subtitle file separately. This workflow does not claim direct YouTube publishing, automatic social scheduling, CRM synchronization or a Zapier connection.

## Related workflows and examples

### Shared Drive-folder instructions

Open the footage picker in Shorty, choose Google Drive and paste an accessible folder link. Check the folder, select the videos and review the estimate. Add the selected videos, write the brief and submit the edit when you are ready.

### MCP connection guide

Connect Shorty to a compatible AI assistant and direct an edit in chat. Bring your footage and a brief; Shorty handles the media processing and rendering.

### Assistant and API documentation

Explore this editing workflow in Shorty.

### Share a cut and collect timed feedback

Open a completed Shorty edit, choose Share for review and create a link for that version. Reviewers can watch and leave comments at a video time without a Shorty account. Links expire after 30 days and can be revoked.

### Download SRT and WebVTT captions

When a completed edit has saved caption timings, open Subtitles and download SRT or VTT. These files carry caption text and timing for the edited output, ready to inspect in your video player or publishing tool.

## Questions, answered.

### Does Shorty publish directly to social platforms?

Download the approved MP4 and publish it through your existing destination. This page does not claim direct social publishing or automatic scheduling.

### Does Drive import monitor a folder for new videos?

No. Select the accessible shared videos required for the current edit. Keep the originals available during processing.

## Your next video starts here.

Bring the footage. Tell us the idea. Shape the edit.
