# Make the ad about one reason to care

Choose one product benefit you can show, support it with your footage, and end with one clear action. Shorty can assemble the cut from a brief. The hardest decision is often what to leave out.

## Do not open with the whole catalogue

A short ad cannot carry every feature with equal weight. Suppose you sell a folding stand. Its compact size, hinge, finish, and packaging may all matter, but the viewer needs a reason to pay attention before the list begins.

Choose one angle: it folds into a small bag. Open with that action, then show it holding the device. The feature becomes understandable because the viewer sees the before and after. Keep unsupported performance claims out of the headline.

## Write a tiny argument

A useful ad sequence is a point, proof, and next step. The point tells the viewer what matters. The proof makes it believable. The next step says what they can do. You can express that structure visually without making every shot carry a text overlay.

Give Shorty the relevant clips and the exact wording you approve. Set the target duration and canvas. If there is an offer, check its terms and dates yourself. A video editor should not be inventing the commercial details.

## Change one part when testing

If you want another version, change the opening or angle while keeping the rest understandable. Changing the hook, product claim, soundtrack, duration, and ending together makes it harder to know what affected the response.

Review the export on a phone. Read every line, watch the demonstration, and check that the destination promised by the ad matches the actual page. A finished render is ready for review; it is not proof that the ad is accurate or effective. Start with one strong, clear message.

## A brief to adapt to your footage

Example direction. Replace the subject, shots, and wording with your own.

Make a 20-second vertical ad for this folding stand. Open with it fitting into the bag, show it supporting the device, and end on the supplied product page call to action. Use only the claims and text I provide. Keep the product visible during the demonstration.

## Keep the ideas coming

### A product video can start with one customer question

You can make a useful ecommerce video by showing one product question clearly. Select the proof, write a short brief, and use Shorty to assemble it. Keep the final review focused on what the product really does.

### You have a folder of product footage. Here is the first ad to make.

Choose one item, one reason to buy it, and the shots that demonstrate that reason. Build a short cut around the evidence, then add an accurate next step. Save the other angles for separate videos.

### More ways to finish your footage

Practical answers for the part after the shoot: find the story, choose an editor, write a useful brief, and get the finished video out the door.

### Shorty product facts and limits

Shorty turns your own video clips and photos into an edited MP4 from a written brief or optional reference. You can review the result and request revisions. This page collects current product facts, fit, limitations and canonical sources.

## Your next video starts here.

Bring the footage. Tell us the idea. Shape the edit.
