You may also owe them a longer film, interviews, or sponsor coverage. Trying to solve every deliverable in one edit makes the short version unnecessarily heavy. Agree on the social cut before you open the footage. Is it a thank-you, a highlights reel, or an invitation to next year? The answer changes the opening. A crowded room establishes turnout; a sharp reaction can establish energy; a speaker line can establish the idea. ## Make a small social selects folder Choose a room-wide shot, two or three actions, a human reaction, and an ending. Add only the speech you need. Keep the long recordings safe elsewhere. Include correct names and any required sponsor shot in the brief so those details are not left to chance. This is most useful when you have already narrowed the story. Keep the social cut modest enough to finish while it is still useful. ## A brief to adapt to your footage Example direction. Replace the subject, shots, and wording with your own. Create a 25-second 9:16 thank-you recap from these event selects. Start with the crowd reaction, show the workshop activity, include the supplied sponsor shot, and finish on the group wave. Keep the event name exactly as provided. Avoid a long logo introduction. ## Keep the ideas coming ### A good interview clip needs a point, not just a shorter runtime Choose a complete idea from the interview, preserve its meaning, and build a small story around it. Supporting shots, readable captions, and a deliberate ending do more than simply shortening the recording. ### Make the event recap around one thing people will remember Pick the event’s main feeling or message, choose a handful of shots that support it, and build a short sequence with a clear opening and ending. A recap does not need to include everything that happened. ### Turn a screen recording into a tutorial people can actually follow Choose the editor around what makes the tutorial understandable: readable screen detail, intact steps, clear speech, and a visible result.
